Information has spread on social media and WhatsApp groups claiming that Umm Nasser Abu Hmeid, nicknamed Khansa of Palestine has died. The claim reads: “There is no power or strength except with God, Khansa of Palestine, mother of martyrs and prisoners. The fighter, mother of fighters, Umm Nasser Abu Hmeid, Khansa of Palestine, has passed away, mother of four prisoners and two martyrs.”

Kashif verified the information and found it to be fabricated. Kashif contacted Ms. Latifa Mahmoud Al-Naji, mother of Nasser Abu Hmeid, who confirmed that she is fine and in good health and is currently in Ramallah.

Latifa Abu Hmeid, nicknamed the “Khansa of Palestine,” is the mother of five children who were sentenced by the Israeli occupation to life imprisonment inside the occupation prisons. Her son, Nasser Abu Hmeid, was martyred in the Israeli occupation prisons after a struggle with cancer. The Israeli occupation released her sons, Nasr, Sharif, and Muhammad Abu Hamid, during the 2025 prisoner exchange deal between Hamas and the Israeli occupation, and they were deported outside Palestine. Meanwhile, her fifth son, “Islam,” is languishing in the Israeli prisons and is serving a life sentence.

On Saturday, Hajja Mazyouna Abu Surur, the mother of prisoner Nasser Abu Surur, who was sentenced to life imprisonment in the occupation’s prisons, died.
